During the meeting, it was noted that the decision on creation of the Commission on the Future was taken upon the recommendation of the Committee hearing on development of science that took place on 13 March.
According to the Chairperson of the Committee Liliia Hrynevych, “in majority of parliaments of the EU countries, specialized commissions on the future were created that coordinate state policy considering new achievements of science. In Ukraine, similar commissions operated in the Verkhovna Rada of the Second and Forth Convocations and composed of people’s deputies.”
According to the draft resolution (Reg. No. 2164a), the Commission on the Future has to become advisory consultative body at the Verkhovna Rada that will function in a civil basis. Representatives of national academies of science, higher educational institutions, scientific organizations, famous scientists and people’s deputies will be members of the Commission.
